Principal's Newsletter June 9

Fri, 06/09/2017 - 2:03pm

Congratulations to Ms. Lynnette Moore on her promotion to Principal at Lake Elkhorn Middle School. She will be missed!

Please join me in welcoming Ms. Sandra Suber and Mr. Cameron Rahnama as Centennial’s Assistant Principals for the 2017-2018 school year.

After many years of dedication and exemplary teaching at Centennial, we have the following teachers who are retiring or leaving: Mrs. Elaine Whalen, Mrs. Ceci Spaide, and Mrs. Alba Rivera. We wish them luck in the next chapter of their lives.

Thank you PTSA and Boosters for all that you have provided us this year.

How fortunate are we!

It is with great pride that the Art Department announces our student participation in the very prestigious Congressional Art Competition.  We entered five beautiful works of art by the following students:
Rachel Sheets, Abbigail Hong, Tricia Park, Maria Rodriguez Cardona, Ye Sun Park. Three of the five CHS students won awards...
Tricia Park won the curator award from the Walters Art Museum.
Maria Rodriguez won the curator award from the Maryland Institute College of Art.
Ye Sun Park won FIRST PLACE in the congressional competition, and her painting will be hung in the tunnel galleries under the US Capitol for one full year!

The Sundays at Three Award recognizes an outstanding student who excels as a small chamber ensemble musician and contributes greatly to their school music program. Jisoo Choi is the CHS recipient and will receive season tickets to the Sundays at Three Concert series and a cash award of $100. Congratulations!

Congratulations! Lauren Marcotte won Fan's Choice Player of the Year for softball!

Report cards will be mailed by June 16th. Please be alert to our newsletter and hcpss news alerts for upcoming activities.
