Congratulations to Nicole Meister. She won Maryland Junior Science and Humanities Symposium $2000 scholarship and is gong to Nationals!

Please congratulate David Ayalaian who finished 1st place in the state of Maryland at the FBLA State Conference in Cybersecurity and 2nd in the state in the Open Event - Computer Operations Systems. The team of Ashley Deng and Megumi Fukuzawa placed 10th in Business Ethics.

Congratulations to Anya and Mia Zwally. They have been selected to compete in the US Ski and Snowboard Eastern U19 and U21 Finals on March 22nd and March 23rd. Good Luck!

CHS She’s the First Presents our SPRING ZUMBATHON, Friday, March 16 6:30pm-8:30pm located in CHS cafeteria. Cost $5/ donations accepted. All proceeds benefit keeping our three girl scholars, Roopa and Jayanthi of India, and Kimberly of Guatemala in school.

The Music Programs adjudication are this week and the students’ performances have been outstanding!

THANK YOU students and staff for helping us raise to raise $2379.47 for Grassroots! We are so fortunate to have such an amazing, generous, and caring community at CHS!

On March 17th, 2018 from 9:30am - 2:00pm, CHS Pre-Medicine Club will be hosting its second annual Medical Seminar at Centennial. The seminar will consist of various sessions in which we will have speakers ranging from medical students, doctors, and researchers. Students will also have the opportunity to look through a gallery walk featuring research done by students at Centennial! It is a great experience for anyone interested in the field of medicine! Updated 2017-18 Calendar: As you know, the inclement weather closings have led to several changes in the 2017-18 school calendar. The Public Information Office has put out several reminders about the updated calendar. The short paragraph at the top of this page has all the details you need.

CHS students organized for a student walkout on March 14 from 10:00-10:17, one month after the Stoneman Douglass school shooting. Students chose to participate or not in the planned walkout. The choice was up to them and they were supported in that choice. Students could also stay in classrooms, attend the Zaching Tournament or meet with teachers and friends.

The Howard County Public School System’s Gifted and Talented Advisory Committee, congratulates the following teachers on their nomination for a G/T Educator Recognition Award. We are excited that they are among the 124 educators receiving the Educator Recognition Award this year! Congratulations to: Kristin Shoresman, Robert Slopek, Jason Piluk, David Phillips, Holly Pasciullo, Katie Parker, Corey O’Brien, Eric Seifter, John Sharbaugh, Justin Guy, Katie Grimm, Shanna Grimes, Alan Coe, Rod McCaslin, Jessica Landi, Rbert Kennedy, Kevin McCoy, Kelly Borowski, and Michelle Bagley. They will be recognized at Reservoir High School on April 12th at 7pm.

CHS Dance Field Trip to Walt Disney World

April 17-21, 2018

All dancers will miss 3 days of school: 4/18, 4/19 & 4/20. They know they are responsible for all missed work!

These students will be representing Centennial as they participate in Disney’s Performing Arts Program. Dancers will get to see live shows, learn current repertoire from WDW stage shows, and take an audition workshop which will focus on performance, resumes, head shots, and opportunities with Disney’s College Program. Additionally, they will perform on the Marketplace Stage in Disney Springs! Thank you in advance for your support of these dancers!

Congratulations to The First Tech Challenge robotics team. They were invited to Worlds in Detroit at the end of April.

Centennial’s Mock Trial team finished its regular season undefeated (6-0) and earned its title as County Champions! The team will be competing against Rockbridge Academy from Anne Arundel county in the Circuit playoffs next Tuesday. Go, Eagles!
