Congratulations to Jocelyn S Mathew who will be representing Centennial High School at the Baltimore Science Fair /Region at the 2019 INTEL ISEF Science and Engineering Fair to be held in Phoenix, AZ from May 12th - May 17th.

CHS Pre-Medicine Club
On Saturday, March 30th from 9:30am - 1:30pm, the CHS Pre-Medicine Club will be hosting its third annual Medical Seminar in the cafeteria. Guests will witness renowned doctors and researchers share their journey, research, and passions. This event is free for everyone and lunch is provided. It is a rewarding experience for anyone interested in the field of medicine!
Science National Honor Society is hosting our annual RISE conference at CHS on April 1st
From 5:30 to 9pm. RISE aims to educate and inform students across Howard County by hosting workshops led by professionals with STEM backgrounds, student research presentations, science-related club displays, and interactive booths with other professionals in their perspective fields. Our keynote speaker this year is Eugene Shen, the director of coaching analytics for the Baltimore Ravens. Additionally, this is a fantastic chance for students to find various internship and volunteering opportunities within their areas of interest. Admission to the event is completely free and includes dinner! Students can register on our website https://chsrise.wixsite.com/rise. Registration check in will be from 5:30 to 6pm.
Parents/Guardians of the Class of 2021
The Class of 2021 Board is seeking monetary donations in preparation for senior activities and prom. Your child received a letter, intended for you, detailing the needs of the class board in order to make his or her senior year the best ever! WORLDFEST
Centennial's annual WorldFest is coming up on April 11th and National Honor Society and the National Dance Honor Society are busy planning for this cultural celebration! Auditions and applications are currently being accepted for students interested in teaching a workshop or participating in the talent show. The deadline for applying is March 15th. Registration for 2019 AP Exams
The registration period for the 2019 AP Exams will begin on 3/4. Students will register for exams using Naviance. Registration is only open to student accounts. Registration is complete once a signed copy of the survey is submitted with payment. Read more

Now that college applications are complete and those letters of admission are arriving, it’s time to apply for scholarships! Each year, the CHS PTSA awards four (4) $500.00 scholarships for graduating seniors. Applications are available on the CHS PTSA website, in the CHS Main Office, in Student Services, and on Naviance.

NOMINATION SEASON FOR STAFF COMMITMENT TO EXCELLENCE AWARD. Now thru Apr. 12.
The CHS PTSA is currently accepting nominations for the 2019 Staff Commitment to Excellence Award. Each year, this recognition is awarded to a dedicated staff member who has demonstrated a committed and caring attitude toward students and fellow staff members. The winner will receive a $300.00 monetary award and their nameplate will be added to the Commitment to Excellence eternity plaque displayed in the CHS Main Office. Nomination forms are available ONLINE and in the CHS Main Office.

Drive-thru EpiPen, Medication and More Collection: Howard County's next convenient drive-thru collection for over-the-counter and prescription medication and “sharps” (needles, syringes and EpiPens) will be held on Saturday, April 27 between 10:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. in the Wilde Lake Village Center parking lot near the Swim Center and The UPS Store. HC DrugFree and the Howard County Police urge you to clean out your medicine cabinets. Teams, clubs, students, PTAs/PTSAs, families, scouts, etc. are welcome to volunteer at the event and receive community service hours. Senior Week - Staying Safe in Ocean City: HC DrugFree will offer 2 Senior Week: Staying Safe in OC programs. Adults and all students welcome to hear beach safety tips and beach-related police updates to keep your teen safe in and out of the water. DALE CARNEGIE YOUNG ADULT LEADERSHIP PROGRAM TO RUN THIS JUNE
