If your students enjoy writing, this is a wonderful opportunity to grow creatively, showcase their skills, participate in Black History Month and win cash.

WJZ's Annual Black History Month Oratory Competition is open to all Maryland high school students and winners receive cash prizes AND a scholarship gift card!

Students must write an original essay on a designated quote by Michelle Obama, Romare Bearden or Ray Lewis. Top prizes are:

1st Place: $700 cash & $2,000 scholarship gift card

2nd Place: $400 cash & $1,000 scholarship gift card

3rd Place: $200 cash & $500 scholarship gift card
