Centennial Speech & Debate competed at BCFL (Baltimore Catholic Forensics League) Tournament #3 this past weekend on Saturday, November 13th. Great job to everyone that competed, and congratulations to everyone that placed as indicated below! In Varsity Public Forum Debate, Lucas Yang & Matthew Liu received an undefeated 3-0 record, earning a silver medal. In addition, Lucas Yang won 2nd place speaker, and Matthew Liu won 3rd place speaker. Furthermore, in JV Lincoln-Douglas Debate, Atara Berzon went 2-1 at her first tournament! Our competitors also performed well in our speech events! Emily Xing in Original Oratory, Chloe Ng in Declamation, Renee Wu in Declamation, and Yunling Ying in Dramatic Performance all received silver medals. Moreover, Jason Mathew won Honorable Mention in Impromptu! With all of our tournaments, none of this would be possible without the help of our volunteer judges and parent volunteers. A special thank you to Mrs. Carr who stepped up big time at the last minute to serve as a volunteer speech judge for us! Thank you to everyone for spending their Saturdays with us this past weekend! CHS Speech & Debate is excited and looking forward to our next tournament at BCFL #4 on December 18th! Go Eagles!
