Principal's Newsletter for February 9, 2018

Fri, 02/09/2018 - 2:49pm

The Delta Scholars would be delighted if you would join us in our observation of Black History Month at our fourth annual Food for the Soul, Words for the Heart.  It is an evening of cultural cuisine and performances. This event will occur on Friday, February 9th from 6 pm- 8 pm in the cafeteria. Tickets are $15 at the door.

Congratulations to Toby Moser, Caio Goolsby, and Adam Knox.

They qualify for the National History Bee competition in Virginia in late April.

Many thanks to the parent and student volunteers for their help in moderating and coordinating this day and many thanks to the Centennial Boosters for their financial support.

On February 3, 2018, the Centennial It's Academic TV team traveled to WJZ TV studios for our playoff game. Our team consisting of seniors Fayyaz Zaidi, Emmaline Alme, and Jakob Boeye defeated Fallston and Bryn Mawr. The TV team swept the "picture perfect" round with 7 consecutive buzzes taking a 140 point lead, then swept the individual round for 185 point lead and never looked back. Thanks to the fabulous Drill Team who performed 3 times during the show.

Good Luck to our Jazz band students leaving for Boston Friday for the Berklee High School Jazz Festival and Competition.

The following students will be attending the Johns Hopkins Model United Nations Conference from Thursday afternoon 2/8 to Sunday 2/11. Good Luck.
