Our G/T Parent Information Night will be on Thursday, 1/5 at 7 PM in the Media Center.

The G/T Research Program includes two college-level courses, Independent Research and Intern/Mentor, in which students design an original research study or creative production in a self-selected area of interest. Student research or creative production focuses on contributing new knowledge to the field of study.

The G/T Resource Teacher facilitates classroom and internship experiences, focusing on advanced-level research methodologies, college-level writing, and oral presentation skills. Students in the Independent Research course receive professional feedback from project advisors, while Intern/Mentor students apply the knowledge and skills they have learned in an authentic, professional environment.

Mr. Rus VanWestervelt released his latest and most significant publication in five years: Faith, Hope, and Legacy: A Collection of Christmas Reflections. It includes three short stories and a collection of essays and intimations on the holiday season, all original and composed over a 16-year period. The featured story, "Gretchie's Gifts," was inspired by a dying friend's wish to have the story told of her "greatest gift ever received."

The Class of 2016 has given a wonderful gift to our school!  A newly mounted LCD projector with great sounding speakers has been installed.  The HCPSS carpentry shop crew designed and created a drop-down shelf that is mounted on the column facing the projection screen.  Electrical outlets have been installed and a lock box, for audio and VGA inputs.  This gift is a great addition to our building and will provide a location for presentations by staff and school groups. Thank you.

Next week is Holiday Spirit Week:
Monday – Holiday PJ Day

Tuesday – Season Switch Day

Wednesday – Ugly Sweater Day

Thursday – Snow Gear Day

Friday – Holiday Character Day

Have a Great Week
