Eagle News:

On behalf of the staff and the administration at Centennial High School, we want to wish each of you a safe and happy holiday season. As we reflect fall and early winter school days, we pause to be thankful for the many gifts that children bring to our lives. As we look ahead to the New Year, we look forward to boundless opportunities for our school community. This truly will be a year to celebrate what we have learned, what we are learning, and what we can learn.

Congratulations to Nicole Meister. She was selected as a 2017 National winner for the NCWIT Award for Aspirations in Computing. Nicole was chosen as one of 50 National Award winners! With over 3,500 applications, this year's Aspirations Award competition was the biggest yet.

Huge thank you to the Italian Club and other Centennial clubs for providing to the Day Resource Center through their annual cookie bake-off. The Day Resource Center donated over 2500 homemade cookies today to bring holiday cheer to many of the chronically homeless people who live in our area. The Centennial Italian Club and other school organizations donated approximately 1/3 of those goodies. Thomas Regnante and the Italian Club have been organizing the bake-off each year for the last five years. Eagle Pride!

Congratulations to Jasmine McCree. She was selected Washington Post All Metro First Team Girls Soccer and Ammar Narmouq was selected All Metro Second Team for Boys Soccer.

Only 1,914 Semifinalists were chosen among nearly 86,000 applicants this year because of their outstanding leadership, academic achievements, and dedication to their community.

Manufacturing in the U.S. is facing a critical shortage of engineers. To demonstrate the relevance of math and science in engineering and spark their interest, our Project Lead The Way students enrolled in Computer Integrated Manufacturing toured the Harley Davidson Vehicle Operations facility in York, Pa on Monday.  Students were able to get a behind-the-scenes look at the automation concepts they have been studying this year in a real-world setting.
