On Saturday, February 18th, over 40 students from 8 different schools across Howard County attended the Howard County Girl Up Leadership Summit, hosted by Centennial High School's Girl Up club. Girl Up, an international campaign of the United Nations Foundation, works with students to fundraise and advocate for girls' rights in developing countries. Centennial's Leadership Summit aimed to educate Howard County students on Girl Up's issues and inspire students to start their own Girl Up clubs. The event featured guest speakers from the community and student leaders who spoke on a variety of issues, such as women in STEM, female empowerment, and youth activism. Centennial students also hosted workshops that focused on club leadership, advocacy, effective fundraising, and community service. Thank you to all those who attended the event!

Moody's Mega Math (M3) Challenge is a mathematical modeling contest for high school juniors and seniors. Through participation, students experience what it’s like to work as a team to tackle a real-world problem under time and resource constraints, akin to those faced by professional mathematicians working in industry. The Challenge is sponsored by The Moody's Foundation and organized by the Society for Industrial and Applied Mathematics (SIAM) and awards $150,000 in scholarships each year.

Centennial High School's Wingspan will be publishing articles about our students' experience with the competition so be sure to read those articles as well.

The playoffs are here…Girls will play tonight at 7pm at Reservoir and Boys will play tonight at 7pm at Centennial! Go Eagles….

Have a great weekend.
