Eagle News:

Congratulations to Jason Kraisser! State Champion in Wrestling for third straight year! Eagle Pride!

Join us for "The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee" at Centennial HS March 22-24 at 7pm and March 25 at 2pm.
Winner of the Tony and the Drama Desk Awards for Best Book, "The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee" has charmed audiences across the country with its effortless wit and humor. Featuring a fast-paced, wildly funny and touching book by Rachel Sheinkin and a truly fresh and vibrant score by William Finn, this bee is one unforgettable experience.
An eclectic group of six mid-pubescents vie for the spelling championship of a lifetime. While candidly disclosing hilarious and touching stories from their home lives, the tweens spell their way through a series of (potentially made-up) words, hoping never to hear the soul-crushing, pout-inducing, life un-affirming "ding" of the bell that signals a spelling mistake. Six spellers enter; one speller leaves! At least the losers get a juice box.
A riotous ride, complete with audience participation," The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee" is a delightful den of comedic genius.

Based on the results of the AMC given a few weeks ago, two of our students qualified for the prestigious AIME exam.  Freshmen Tyler Lin & Isaac Mammal qualified for the next test.  The will receive a Certificate of Achievement.  Tyler Lin was our school winner. Sophomore Nadine Meister received a Certificate of Achievement based on her result. Congratulations!

Students throughout the country have mobilized to speak out against gun violence in the wake of the recent shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School.  Part of this effort includes a walkout on March 14th (one month after the Douglas shooting) advertised by the Women's March Youth Empower Movement.  Some students at Centennial High School have expressed an interest in participating in this national event.
All events associated with any planned marches are completely voluntary.  Civil discourse on all sides of the gun debate will be encouraged so that our community can model the behavior of good citizenship.

MARCH 14TH IS PI DAY

Please join the CHS community for PI DAY on March 14th as we raise money for GRASSROOTS, our local crisis intervention and homeless shelter.  We are encouraging every CHS student to bring $3.14 to school on March 14th to donate during MATH classes.
It takes $2111 per day to run Grassroots.  If we raise enough money, CHS can "buy" a day of services.  We plan to buy March 29th which is ONE CENTENNIAL DAY!!!

We will be holding a community meeting on school safety…please watch for the date and time.

Spring ahead with your clocks!

Have a great weekend.
