Parking at Merriweather Post Pavilion for CHS Graduation

Lot 7 is the location for Centennial families and guest to park on for the day of graduation. Map included.  Note that Lot 1 is always reserved for Elected Officials and ADA with an additional 33 ADA spaces as noted.   Teachers and the Administration park by the white house up the winding driveway across from Toby’s Dinner Theatre for each graduation as in the past.

·         Parking is limited - carpooling is best.

·         Expect to walk. All of the parking (including ADA) is located some distance from the seating.  For guests with mobility issues, the use of the drop-off area is encouraged. Also, note “drop off” area on Merriweather Drive (called Merriweather Way on this map).

·         Plan for the unexpected.  Drive towards the specified lot(s), however, vehicles may be redirected by parking staff as lots fill.

Live Streaming - Graduation

HCPSS is excited to be able to continue the tradition of streaming all high school commencement ceremonies live on the HCPSS website at www.hcpss.org. There will be alert boxes on the homepage for each graduation. On-demand viewing also will be available following each ceremony.

All graduation-related information, including parking details and maps, how to view, and video/photo guidelines is in one place at https://www.hcpss.org/commencements/. Please note that parking maps are found by selecting the box for a school. This also goes to individual pages where we will embed the livestream and post programs.

Lastly, there is a sharable photo album created for each graduation. They will be available on our Flickr page no later than Friday, June 7. These do not include the Lifetouch individual photos but instead are candid shots of students before and during the ceremonies, which users may download for free.

The Musical Theatre class presents "Once on this Island, Jr.

Join us for a free show for kids! The Musical Theatre class presents "Once on this Island, Jr." on Friday, May 17th at 12pm. Once On This Island is a captivating legend of romance between a peasant girl and a rich city boy whom she saves from death. This calypso-flavoured re-telling of The Little Mermaid opens on a Caribbean island where villagers comfort a little girl with the story of the orphan Ti Moune, destined to love too much for the human heart to bear. Staged with minimal props, sets and costumes, Once On This Island delivers melody, love and joy in tropical abundance.

CHS Football

There will be a Centennial High School Football Program parent and player meeting for all returning and new players and parents on Wednesday, May 22 at 6:30 in the CHS Media Center.  At this meeting,

we will discuss our offseason and season schedules, review expectations, hand out paperwork, and introduce newcomers to the coaching staff.  This is a mandatory meeting for all players interested in playing football this fall.

This fall, CHS Football will play an independent football schedule against teams from Maryland counties that had no more than 3 victories during the 2018 season.  This schedule provides the CHS football program with a great opportunity to continue to improve skills and experience success during the 2019 season.

If you have any questions, please contact Coach Martin at william_martin@hcpss.org

Hope to see you there.
