LOST & FOUND

There are a lot of items in our Lost & Found.  If you are missing coats, water bottles, lunch boxes, sweatshirts, etc., please stop by to check out the items before the last day of school.  All items will be donated on Friday, June 21.

 

From the Health Room

If your student has medication in the health room, please make arrangements to stop by any time before the end of the school year to pick up the medication.  Medication remaining at the end of the school year should be picked up by the parent/guardian by 12 noon on the last day of school, June 21st.  Any medication not picked up will be disposed of by the June 21.

 

Athletic Orientation Program

The Centennial High School Athletic Department will conduct its Fall Athletic Orientation Program for Parents, Students Athletes and Fall Coaching Staff on Tuesday, August 20th  at 6:00PM in the CHS Auditorium.

The Fall Coaching Staff will hold their Parent and Student Athlete break-out session immediately following the program, to discuss their expectations and team specific policies and procedures.  For more information, click here.

 

Yearbooks

The online yearbook ordering feature has closed. I will be placing my final order at the end of this week. If you forgot to order, there is still time. Email kristin_lavender@hcpss.org and send in a check for $90 made out to CHS; I will place the order for you. We will not be ordering extra copies, so if interested, please place your order now. It is fantastic. You won't be disappointed.

 

Fall Sports Sign-Up Night:  Monday, August 12th, 2019: 4:00-5:30 PM in the CHS Cafeteria

All Students interested in trying out for a Fall Sport at Centennial High School are urged to attend our Fall Sports Sign-up Night on Monday, August 12th, 2019, from 4:00-5:30 PM in the CHS Cafeteria. Paperwork WILL NOT be collected prior to this date.  Click here for more information.

End of Year Staff International Lunch

International Lunch for Staff is one week away. Please sign up to support this wonderful end of year tradition for our amazing and hard-working staff! Many slots still available.

 

It's time for the annual End of Year International Lunch for our CHS staff! The Parent Advocacy Groups and the Staff Appreciation Committee of the PTSA will be hosting this event at CHS on Wednesday, June 19, 2018  from 11:30 am -1:00 pm.

We're seeking contributions of entrees to serve between 8-10 people. Please specify your contribution in the comment area so we can ensure variety.  In addition, we need donations of desserts and beverages, as well as volunteers to help with set up, serving, and clean up.

If you belong to one of the Parent Advocacy groups (PCBS, LAC, KAPA or CAAC), please contact your leader to coordinate your donation. All other volunteers, please sign up under the "other" category.  

We will have food warmers set up, but please provide food that is cooked and heated. Please drop off contributions to the CHS cafeteria by 10:45 a.m. or contact Wenge (646-287-0541, wenge99@gmail.com) to make special arrangements.

SUMMER PSAT/SAT/ACT Prep Course coming to CHS this August!
Register now for our upcoming SUMMER PSAT, SAT, ACT prep course (5 evenings), ScoreMoreTestPrep, offered at Centennial High School by Dr. Martha Gagnon and Rebecca Mason.  Dr. Martha Gagnon and Ms. Rebecca Mason have been offering ScoreMoreTestPrep at our school for years and feedback and results have been excellent. Anyone planning to take the Summer (August) or Fall tests should consider taking this course.  Better test scores mean more college and scholarship opportunities, so don't miss out on this great way to prep for your upcoming college tests!

MISA

The Maryland State Board of Education is seeking public comment about the High School Maryland Integrated Science Assessment (HS MISA) accountability timeline; extending the graduation requirement exemption by two years. Public comments can be sent to Bruce Lesh (Director of Instructional Programs, Division of Curriculum, Assessment and Accountability). His email address is bruce.lesh@maryland.gov, or call 410-767-0519. Comments will be accepted through July 8, 2019. A public hearing has not been scheduled.
