Green School Recertification - Congratulations, Centennial High School has recertified as a Maryland Green School. The Maryland Green School award represents a whole school commitment to environmental literacy for staff, students and the community.

Summer Workouts & Practice for Centennial Football
Summer Workouts & Practice for Centennial Football begin this Monday, June 24! Workouts will run from Monday, June 24 to Wednesday, August 7. Workouts are mandatory for all returning and incoming players.
The weekly schedule for the summer is as follows:
Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays – 8:00am to 10:00am – Lifting & Conditioning (all rising 9th, 10th, 11th, and 12th grades)
Wednesdays – 4:00pm to 6:00pm – Practice (all rising 10th, 11th, and 12th grades; NO incoming 9th graders)
Summer lifting, conditioning, and practice is a critical component of our football program and all returning and incoming players should attend. If you have any questions, contact Coach Martin at william_martin@hcpss.org
LOST & FOUND
There are a lot of items in our Lost & Found. If you are missing coats, water bottles, lunch boxes, sweatshirts, etc., please stop by to check out the items before the last day of school. All items will be donated on Friday, June 21.
From the Health Room
If your student has medication in the health room, please make arrangements to stop by any time before the end of the school year to pick up the medication. Medication remaining at the end of the school year should be picked up by the parent/guardian by 12 noon on the last day of school, June 21st. Any medication not picked up will be disposed of by the June 21.
Athletic Orientation Program
The Centennial High School Athletic Department will conduct its Fall Athletic Orientation Program for Parents, Students Athletes and Fall Coaching Staff on Tuesday, August 20th at 6:00PM in the CHS Auditorium.
The Fall Coaching Staff will hold their Parent and Student Athlete break-out session immediately following the program, to discuss their expectations and team specific policies and procedures. For more information, click here.
Yearbooks
The online yearbook ordering feature has closed. I will be placing my final order at the end of this week. If you forgot to order, there is still time. Email kristin_lavender@hcpss.org and send in a check for $90 made out to CHS; I will place the order for you. We will not be ordering extra copies, so if interested, please place your order now. It is fantastic. You won't be disappointed.
Fall Sports Sign-Up Night: Monday, August 12th, 2019: 4:00-5:30 PM in the CHS Cafeteria
All Students interested in trying out for a Fall Sport at Centennial High School are urged to attend our Fall Sports Sign-up Night on Monday, August 12th, 2019, from 4:00-5:30 PM in the CHS Cafeteria. Paperwork WILL NOT be collected prior to this date. Click here for more information.

Summer Baseball Camp
CHS Boosters will be sponsoring a summer baseball camps. CHS Coach Ahearn will be running the camp. The camp will run 7/22-7/24 9-12pm& 7/25 9-2pm. The cost is $175 Please register by emailing Coach Ahearn at denis_ahearn@hcpss.org and putting ATTENTION CHS BASEBALL CAMP in the subject line.
*Space is Limited-Accepting first 25 players ages 8-14 (entering 9th grade)
Staff:

o Has won 4 County Championships, 3 Regional Championships, and 1 State Title
Prospective Counselors:
▪ Current and Former High School All=Stars and All-County Players
▪ D-1 and D-III College Players who are former Centennial players
This camp is a fundamentally intensive learning program taught in a fun environment.
Objectives:
▪ Demonstrate the mechanics of hitting, pitching, catching, and fielding
▪ Provide an understanding of the mental side of baseball
▪ Present the proper fundamentals, conduct, and discipline of baseball
▪ Develop the confidence necessary to play baseball at your highest level

MISA
The Maryland State Board of Education is seeking public comment about the High School Maryland Integrated Science Assessment (HS MISA) accountability timeline; extending the graduation requirement exemption by two years. Public comments can be sent to Bruce Lesh (Director of Instructional Programs, Division of Curriculum, Assessment and Accountability). His email address is bruce.lesh@maryland.gov, or call 410-767-0519. Comments will be accepted through July 8, 2019. A public hearing has not been scheduled.
