AP Exams - Update

AP Info Meets --- Ms. Covington will be hosting multiple Meets next week, starting on Tuesday, to address concerns about the new exam format, test day expectations, resources, email contact, cancelations and refunds.  These sessions are NOT mandatory.  Watch for a Canvas alert on Monday with dates and times.

The College Board has released some new AP Exam resources:

  • AP Exam Day Checklist: Your child should complete this checklist (.pdf/513.39 KB) for each AP Exam they'll be taking this year, and keep it next to them on test day.

  • Explainer Videos: New videos are available to give your child quick, easily accessible information about the test day experience and what they need to do to prepare. Additional videos will be posted to this playlist soon.

  • Accommodations details for the exams are also available now.

HCPSS teachers will continue to work with students to share resources and course specific exam information in preparation for testing. Please visit the HCPSS Grades and Testing FAQ for more information.

In addition, AP Coordinators will be sharing the message below with AP Chinese, French, German, Italian, Japanese, and Spanish Language teachers. The teachers will be messaging their students to notify them of the required devices.

The AP language exam will require the use of a smartphone or tablet to deliver the assessment. College Board will be releasing a new AP World Languages Exam App in the Apple App Store and the Google Play Store during the week of May 11th. This free app is required to take the assessment. Only language exams will require this specialized app.

If you do not have a smartphone/tablet available that can access the Apple App Store or the Google Play Store, please fill out this survey as soon as possible:

Tutors Needed!

Hello Centennial!  My name is Justin Liang and I am a junior here at CHS. Due to these unprecedented times, students across the county are missing out on a large chunk of their education; meeting once a week just isn’t the same. Because of this, I decided to start a free, online, and volunteer tutoring program called the Eagles Tutoring Program. The idea of the program is to get CHS students to tutor other students.  While there are plenty of opportunities at CHS to get tutoring from other sources, this program is different because it will focus on the Middle School audience (although it is open to any high schoolers who want to be tutored:)). Specifically, we will be focusing on providing help to middle school students who perhaps don’t get the same support as we do. I encourage any of you who are willing to be tutors to sign up! Please see the website to sign up, or ask any questions. Here is the program’s website: www.eaglestutoringprogram.weebly.com  Stay safe, Justin Liang
