Student Parking Permits

As we prepare for a return to school, we’ve started receiving questions about acquiring parking permits. The procedures for issuing permits will be modified this spring. As a result of the A/B Hybrid model, we anticipate there will be ample parking spaces available given half of the eligible drivers will be on campus each day. The process will begin first with Seniors when they return to school, and then for Juniors when they return to the building. A driver’s license (not learner’s permit) and parental consent is required. Parking permit applications are available online or in the front office. No parking permit fee will be charged this year. 


Here is what you need to do:

  1. Complete the parking permit application. This includes signed copies of the CHS Vehicle Registration and Parking Agreement, HCSPP Parking Permit Application.

  2. Attach a copy of your driver's license to the application.

  3. Submit the completed application in one of the following ways:

    1. via US Mail to CHS, 4300 Centennial Lane, Ellicott City, 21042 ATTN: Marie Dow;

    2. via email to; or,

    3. via drop box located at the front office door when you return to school.

  4. Parking permits will be available for pick up during lunch shifts.


Should the school system transition to a full return to school for all students, we will assess whether or not restrictions will have to be put into place. That will depend upon the number of spaces that will be required to accommodate the number of students who wish to drive to school at that time. Permits will still be issued on a first come, first served basis and the list generated during the application process will be preserved in the event we will have to reduce the number of students who will be utilizing parking privileges in the future.
