Are you interested in public speaking, theater, law, or debate? Then, Empire Mock Trial is perfect for you! Empire Mock Trial is a team at Centennial High School focused on real-world mock trial cases with opportunities to grow their skills during fun & competitive trials. Students compete as attorneys and witnesses during the fall against other states and countries. Practices take place during the summer and continue into the beginning of the school year. Competitors are able to learn from real lawyers and judges with high-ranking positions in our legal system. Being our 7th Empire competition, Centennial is bringing its years of experience to the competition this fall. Most recently, Centennial placed as Division Champions & State Co-Finalists in Maryland this past regular season. Centennial Empire Mock Trial has a history of excellence with numerous top attorney & top witness awards/rankings over the past several years. If you're interested in learning more, join our first (online) interest meeting on Tuesday (5/25) from 2:30-3:15PM (Code: CHS-Empire). Later interest meetings will be on 5/27 (2:30-3:15PM) and 6/2 (10:30AM-12:30PM). Auditions and interviews will be taking place during mid-June (towards the end of the school year & after AP exams). ALL students are welcome, regardless of experience. Students will be able to learn along the way, and the team will be hosting two workshops for students to learn about the audition case later next week.
