CELEBRATE CENTENNIAL:
Got great news about our students, staff, or community? Send it our way and we’ll shout it out!
This past weekend, Centennial Speech & Debate performed wonderfully at the second BCFL tournament of the season on Saturday. Congratulations to everyone who competed and a special shoutout to the competitors listed below for their placements and accomplishments!
Starting with debate, we saw many CHS debaters at their first tournament receive high placements and accolades! In JV Public Forum Debate, Emily Han & Raaga Katta won a gold medal, and Tanvi Gupta & Yehji Hwang earned an impressive 2-1 record.
In our speech events, Chloe Ng received a silver medal in Declamation, and Emily Xing obtained a gold medal in Original Oratory.
Our efforts at this tournament would not be possible without the help of our volunteer judges -- thank you to all our parent judges!
We are so proud of everyone and look forward to competing at the next BCFL tournament on Saturday, November 13th! Go Eagles!

FAFSA Workshop
Representatives from Howard Community College's Financial Aid Services Department will offer families private one-on-one help completing their Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) on Wednesday, November 17th from 3-7 pm at the Miller Library. Registration required, register HERE.
Speakup Hoco!
This is a community based program in collaboration between several organizations where Howard County teens have an opportunity to get together and learn dialogue skills to discuss any topics and issues that are important and meaningful to them, with a focus on race, identity, diversity, and inclusion. The teens will earn service hours as well as learn some leadership skills. We meet the second and fourth Mondays from 7:00-8:30pm at the Carriage House in Columbia. If you would help us get the word out to all your staff and parent contacts, that would be wonderful.
