Centennial Speech & Debate competed at BCFL Tournament #4 on Saturday, December 18th. Overall, our team saw a great turnout with 20 competitors in total! Terrific job and congratulations to everyone that competed! Here’s a look into some of our top performers:
In Varsity Public Forum Debate, Lucas Yang & Matthew Liu and Olivia Ju & Shriya Reddy won the majority of their rounds, placing 9th overall & 16th overall respectively and each receiving a 2-1 record. Additionally, in Varsity Lincoln-Douglas Debate, Peter Chen earned a 2-1 record and placed 11th overall.
In our speech events, Dia Nawathe placed 7th overall in Declamation and Yunling Ying placed 3rd overall in Dramatic Performance. Furthermore, Emily Xing and Timothy Cai each won a silver medal in Original Oratory and Impromptu respectively.
Thank you to all our volunteers judges and parent volunteers for helping make the last BCFL competition of the calendar year possible for CHS!
Moving into 2022, CHS Speech & Debate is looking forward to competing at BCFL Tournament #5 in the new year on Saturday, January 22nd! Go Eagles!
