 Centennial Families:

I am writing to share with you that approximately 300 students participated in a walkout in support of National Queer Youth at 1:00pm this afternoon. This action was student led and was planned to bring attention to anti-LBGTQIA+ initiatives and legislation being enacted across the country. The students reported to the stadium where they peacefully and safely assembled for approximately 20 minutes. Students returned to class and continued to engage in instruction for the remainder of the day.

Students had the option of whether to participate in today’s walkout and they were supported in their choice. Students who did not participate remained in their classrooms and continued regular instruction.

While I have your attention, please remember Daylight Saving Time begins this weekend. Don’t forget to ‘spring forward’ and set your clocks an hour ahead!

Enjoy the remainder of this pleasant day,

Cindy Dillon
