HIGH SCHOOL SEMESTER EXAM SCHEDULE - JANUARY 2024

 

Tuesday, January 16, 2024 (A Day)

• Period 1 Exam; Bell Schedule #1
• Full day of school
• No extracurricular activities, including practices, rehearsals, events, etc. 
• AM & PM ARL Classes in Session

 

Wednesday, January 17, 2024 (B Day) 

• Periods 2 & 3 Exams; Bell Schedule #2
• All schools close 3 hours early  
• No extracurricular activities, other than 90 minute conditioning practices which may begin at 3:05 PM
• No PM ARL Students

 

Thursday, January 18, 2024 (A Day)

• Periods 4A & 5 Exams; Bell Schedule #2
• High schools close 3 hours early  
• No extracurricular activities, other than 90 minute conditioning practices which may begin at 3:05 PM
• No AM/PM ARL Students

 

Friday, January 19, 2024 (B Day)

• Periods 4B & 6 Exams; Bell Schedule #2
• High schools close 3 hours early  
• All extracurricular activities resume at 3:05 PM
• No AM ARL Students

    

Special Notes

1. NO EXAMS MAY BE GIVEN PRIOR TO THE SCHEDULED EXAM DATE.

2. The order of exams has been changed for Periods 4A, 4B, 5, and 6 due to the need to accurately record student attendance in Synergy. Holding 4A and 4B on the same day does not allow teachers to input attendance for both classes (as they are recorded in the same period). 

3. If there is a 2-hour delayed opening on Tuesday, January 16, Bell Schedule #3 will be used. 

4. If schools are closed on Tuesday, January 16, the Period 1 exam will be moved to Tuesday, January 23 and Bell Schedule #1 will be used. AM/PM ARL will be held. On January 16, students in semester courses will report to Semester 1 classes for Periods 2-6.  If this schedule is used on January 23, students in semester courses will report to Semester 2 courses for Periods 2-6.

5. If there is a 2-hour delayed opening on Wednesday, January 17, Thursday, January 18, or Friday, January 19, Bell Schedule #4 will be used. 

• If Schedule #4 is used on Wednesday, January 17, Period 4B will be held between exams. 
• If Schedule #4 is used on Thursday, January 18, Period 4A will be held between exams. There will be no AM/PM ARL. PM ARL students will stay at home school and participate in virtual review lessons with ARL teachers during Period 5. An ARL staff member will also report to each high school for student supervision during this time (If you do not need an ARL staff member for coverage, please email Karl Schindler, ARL Principal.)
• If Schedule #4 is used on Friday, January 19, Period 4B will be held between exams.

6. If schools are closed on January 17 OR 18, the exams scheduled for that day will be given on the next school day. This would then shift each day over by one so that Bell Schedule #5 would be used on Tuesday, January 23 as the last day of exams. 

7. If schools are closed on Friday, January 19, the Periods 4B and 6 exams will be moved to Tuesday, January 23 and Bell Schedule #5 will be used. PM ARL students will go to ARL to complete exams. AM ARL students will remain at school for the shortened periods in the afternoon.

8. All extracurricular activities will resume on Friday, January 19, regardless of late opening or closure for inclement weather on January 16-18. 

9.Any additional schedule changes necessary will be addressed by SMIL and communicated to schools as quickly as possible.
