CELEBRATE CENTENNIAL:

Got great news about our students, staff, or community? Send it our way and we’ll shout it out! 

We have several students who earned recognition in the recent Morgan State University Science Fair this year:

  • 11th grade Intern/Mentor student Hannah Fang - 1st Place win in the Physical Science category for her project titled: Ca II Quasar Absorbers and Cosmic Dust Provide New Insights into Galactic Evolution, the Milky Way, and Star Formation.

  • 10th grade Independent Research student William Gao - 1st place OVERALL and 1st place in the Mathematics and Computer Science category for his project titled: Designing a Deep Learning-Based Resource-Efficient Diagnostic System for Metastatic Breast Cancer: Reducing Long Delays of Clinical Diagnosis and Improving Patient Survival in Developing Countries.

  • 10th grade (future) Intern/Mentor student Ishani Ghosh - 1st place win in the Biological Science category for her project titled: The Effect of Saturated Lipid on Neuronal Stem Cell Migration and Differentiation following Acute Brain Injury.

  • 9th grade student Martin Meister - 4th place win in the Earth and Environmental Science category for his project titled: Mapping Submerged Aquatic Vegetation (SAV) in the Chesapeake Bay Using Remote Sensing Data with Machine Learning.

Congratulations to these amazing Eagle Scholars!

 

Congratulations to the CHS Science Olympiad team who participated last weekend in the Maryland Science Olympiad. They are State CHAMPIONS!!! (SIX YEARS IN A ROW!) The CHS Science Olympiad will be participating (virtually) in Nationals on May 24, at Caltech, CA.
